AFFCAD UK is run by a team of committed volunteers based in the UK and around the world. We work closely with AFFCAD Uganda to support the community in Bwaise wherever they need us most. Right now that is campaigning and fundraising for our Covid-19 relief campaign.

Jabina Rai
Lead Administrator
Jabina is an avid reader, writer and speaker of positive social development. With a heart for volunteering, she dedicates her efforts towards various charities and communities. She finds it fun, embarking on long distance journeys and exploring cultures, one adventure at a time.

Deborah Oyewole
Charity Assistant
Deborah is a Social Science student, specialising in Political Humanities. She is passionate about international relations and development, and has undertaken work experience at the UN in Geneva.

Devinder Kaur
Legal Assistant
Devinder is a recent graduate with a degree in Law and Business, looking to use her knowledge to do some good in the world. She enjoys new challenges and experiences. In her spare time, she loves to play board games.

Sophie Hitchen
Legal Assistant
Sophie is a law graduate with over two years of clinical experience in a vast array of legal areas, specialising in Wills and Probate, among other Private Client matters, and Contract Law. She has experience in researching case matters, interviewing clients and advising them accordingly.

Dylan Cox
Website Manager
Dylan is a financial analyst who loves building websites and writing content for a variety of organisations. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, coding and exercising.

Oladimeji Shotayo ( Shotty)
Charity Assistant
Shotty is a seasoned Administrator with over 10 years of experience and a passion for going above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction. His dedication to providing top-notch service has earned a reputation as a customer-friendly professional who regularly puts the needs of others first.
When not working, you can find him spending quality time with his loved ones. As a family man, he believes that relationships are the foundation of life.

Léa Plateau
Legal Assistant
Léa is a student of International and European Law at the University of Groningen and is passionate about using her legal knowledge to make a positive impact. Alongside her studies, she co-founded a collective focused on creating safe spaces for women and the LGBTQ+ community, where she managed social media, organized events, and supported community initiatives. In her free time, Léa enjoys graphic design, pottery, and exploring various forms of art and culture.

Hollins Esegba
Admin Assistant
Hollins has a Higher Diploma in Petroleum Marketing Technology and Business Administration. He has over 5 years of experience in Office Management, Energy, and Journalism. He is passionate about the SDGs and has experience in community development and delivering humanitarian projects in Africa. He spends his spare time writing insightful content, exercising, and training young people.

Nakai Makura
School Partnerships Coordinator
Nakai is a graduate in International Development with French, currently pursuing an MSc in Environment, Politics, and International Development at SOAS University of London. Her passion for education grew while working in a secondary school in the UK. She loved empowering young people through learning. Having lived in South Africa and Nigeria, she developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultural and social contexts, inspiring her focus on tackling development challenges. She is committed to creating sustainable, equitable change, especially through education.

James Read
Fundraising Assistant
Jamie is currently pursuing an MA in International Relations and Anthropology and is passionate about sustainable development and global affairs. He has hands-on experience working within Africa specifically within Malawi, where he worked with vulnerable children and supported fundraising initiatives for education and community development. Jamie is also a keen photographer, with an aim to pursue cultural photography worldwide.
